Jacob’s time was 15 minutes, 55 seconds in the 5 kilometer race at Bartlett High School, beating Hunter Kratz by 2 seconds.

Throughout the season, Jacob was improving between each competition. “Jacob had a phenomenal year,” says Molissa, “He has hundreds of miles on his legs. Not hundreds, thousands.” Wightman was joyful that her best runner; Jacob, worked very hard and pushed himself to earn first place.

“Jacob showed the greatest promise,” says Wightman. He followed through by succeeding in the season. He prepared by joining track during the spring, running along-side with Kaleb Korta. Jacob also prepared by running in the summer in Galena. He would work along with Korta, getting motivation to keep pushing himself to succeed.
