Hawks lose first game this season against North Pole

The Galena Hawks faced off against North Pole Patriots on Monday, March 1, and took their first loss of the season, 31-55. Joe Riddle led the team with 14 points for the Hawks.

It was a slow start for Galena, scoring only 10 points. Meanwhile, North Pole was on fire, draining threes and mid-range shots, making a 4-point lead going into the second quarter.

At the start of the second quarter, things got better for Galena, getting two steals in a row. Galena tied it up once at 14, but North Pole got their lead back, making it 21-17 at the end of the first half.

During the third quarter, the Hawks got up by one point at the middle of the quarter until North Pole started to hit more threes, which gave them a 6-point lead at the end of the quarter.

The fourth quarter came along and the Patriots ran away with it, winning 31-55.
