The swim team traveled more than 32 miles in the water raising money during its annual swim fundraiser at the Galena pool on Oct. 14.

The money is still being collected, said coach Jason Harris.

Swimmers asked donors for a certain amount for each lap of the pool, or a set amount for the event. The top swimmer, eighth grader John Riddle III, swam 6,000 yards, or 3.4 miles.

The swimmers swam a total of 1,128 laps, or 56,400 yards. That’s a little more than 32 miles.
