The junior high volleyball team was put together by Trisha Esmailka this year to prepare the kids for the proper training and skills so they will understand the basics of the volleyball game. Mrs. Esmailka wants the junior high kids to get the basics down and feel the actual game to come to them, and wants them to also like the game itself.

“Practice, practice, practice,” said Mrs. Esmailka. “We want more confidence and more contact with the ball as much as possible to prepare our kids for high school volleyball and I’ve never been to a place where there were boys playing against a team in volleyball, so that was competitive.”

Mrs. Esmailka had a lot of experience in volleyball, playing from the fifth grade until she was a junior in high school. She loves coaching volleyball; she coached mixed-six volleyball from 2002 to 2006.

There are no current teams in the area to play against the junior high volleyball to play against, so they are just practicing the skills they need.

The members of the team are:

Lilly Esmailka

Mandy Carlo

Mary Burgett

Grace Boyers

Maite Echenique

Bella Marks
