Screen Free Week coming to SHS

By LYDIA CHUNAK, staff writer

Screen free week is when you don’t use any electronics only for school or work.

Screen free week in Galena is for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. It starts on Monday, April 30 and ends Saturday, May 5.

The parents will have to sign a slip saying the child didn’t use electronics, said Genny Brown, SHS librarian. For every slip the student gives to Ms. Brown, the student will get two Altercated Read points. When the students have enough AR points, they can use the points at the student store.

Some of the activities will be open gym, free swim, and game night, and more activities.

There is more information on the national Screen Free Week website.
