“Votes have been counted in the themes presented and the top choice for Prom 2018 theme is Red Carpet, featuring the song “Royals” by Lorde,” said Jaime Landrum, junior class advisor, in a recent email to the junior class.

Juniors met on January 16 in the GILA auditorium to plan this year’s prom.

The junior class will be selling concession at the KIYU annual music festival this Saturday at the SHS gym featuring the Nenana band.

“Thanks for all those who have stepped up to volunteer and give suggestions! You guys are awesome and I look forward to working with all of you,” said Mrs. Landrum.

At the junior class meeting, students picked the theme from four other ideas: Candy Land, Las Vegas, Masquerade, and Red Carpet. About 20 juniors attended the meeting.

No decisions have been made about the ticket prices or the DJs, said Mrs. Landrum.

This year’s prom will be Saturday, May 5 in the GILA gym.
