The Galena swim team is heading to Fairbanks to take part in the Wishbone Invitational at the Hamme Pool on Nov. 13-15.

The swimmer will do the distances and numbers, said Jason Harris, swim coach. The events that they’re going to do are the breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle, and the butterfly stroke.

The team raised money for the trip through donations, a swim-a-thon, membership fees, soup nights at the pool, and t-shirt sales, he said.

Coach Harris said that eighth-grade swimmer John Riddle III was one of his best swimmers, adding that they all do their best and they’re all good swimmers.
