Cut cable shuts down Internet

A contractor from Wolverine Supply Inc. accidentally cut a communication cable at GILA on April 2 and 3.

The cable was cut at the headquarters building at GILA and it has interrupted internet access for the gym, shop and headquarters building, said Jim Merriner, Galena schools superintendent.

The internet wasn’t down for very long and was fixed by Scott Betterton, the IT Tech at GCSD, he said.

“I was able to get the internet back and working,” said Mr. Betterton. “There are no more power interruptions and has been fixed both times.”
