Get ready for lots of fun. Jousting! Renaissance characters! And beautiful singing, with just a little purposeful goofiness!

The Ptarmigan Hall music and arts program presents A Holiday Madrigal on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 4 and 5, in the SHS elementary gym. The times have not yet been decided.

The musical was written and scored by Natalie Olender, the music and arts program director.

“We’re basically trying to stick you in the Renaissance era,” she said. “I always liked going to Renaissance fairs when I was a kid.”

She’s promising an immersive experience.

The audience members will play the role of guests, and they’ll be part of the play. “The actors will have a feast with the guests,” she said.

She’s aiming for a lot of laughs.

Ms. Olender also wrote and scored a musical last year, Nothing To Do, which was loosely based on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. The play was well received by the school and community.
