The Galena Swim Team had its Annual Mock Meet in the Galena community pool on Saturday, October 22.

The Mock Meet was a fundraiser that helped the team pay for travel during their season.

Everyone was welcome to attend and cheer on our swimmers.

“The mock meet was a success,” said Jason Harris, the swim team’s assistant coach. “The kids had fun, the parents had fun, and the team made money.”

“The kids were successful and showed growth,” said Lynn Betterton, the swim team’s head coach. “The spectators were happy with what they saw. I was pleased with the kids asking their parents and friends for challenges and bringing a lot of people to the meet.”

There are about three dozen students on the swim team ranging in age from 6 years old to high school seniors.
