Jason Harris and his wife Myra Harris attended the short course yards meet in Anchorage at Bartlett High School last weekend on Feb. 21 -22. The meet happens once a year, and there were about 50 swimmers who attended.

To participate in the master meet, you must be between 19 years old and “’till you die,” said Mr. Harris.

In the meet this year, he was the only one in his age group to swim. Mr. Harris is 36 years old.

This was the first time he swam in a meet in about 15 years, said Mr. Harris.

He said that he swam almost as well as he did his freshman year in high school. “They [the races] went better than I anticipated,” said Mr. Harris.

The pool at Bartlett High school is similar to the community pool here in Galena, which is 25 yards long.
