The Galena boys’ and girls’ basketball team traveled to Delta Junction this past weekend for the Dean Cummings Tournament.

On the boy’s side, the Hawks started out with a tough loss early Thursday to the Valdez Buccaneers, 36-67.

The Friday game against the Seward Seahawks was a grind to the very end but they managed to come out with a nice win for the Galena, winning the game 52-51. John Riddle III led the way for the Hawks.

The Hawks ended Friday afternoon with a loss to the North Pole boys. The Hawks played with great hustle and still came up short and lost by 2 points.

On the girl’s side, the scores were:
Galena 23, Kotzebue 47
Galena 53, Seward 37
Galena 42, Hutchison 35
